Feature Request: Custom Matter Dashboard Tabs with Independent Saved Column Layouts
Today, Lawcus provides built-in Matter tabs such as “Open” and “Closed,” but users cannot create their own dedicated dashboard tabs with independent filters and saved column visibility configurations.
This creates a workflow limitation for teams managing multiple distinct case types or operational workflows inside the same Lawcus environment.
For example, a team may want dedicated dashboard tabs for:
* Case Area A
* Case Area B
* Case Area C
with each tab functioning similarly to the existing “Open” tab, but with its own independently saved:
* filter criteria
* visible / hidden columns (including custom fields)
* sorting preferences
* grouping preferences
Example:
Clicking a custom “Case Area A” dashboard tab would immediately display only those matters, along with the specific operational columns and custom fields relevant to that workflow—without requiring the user to manually reconfigure column visibility each time.
Currently, because visible column selections are global across Matter list views, teams must either constantly toggle columns depending on workflow, or maintain one cluttered universal dashboard containing many irrelevant fields.
Allowing user-created dashboard tabs with independently saved layouts would significantly improve Lawcus as a true workflow and operations management platform.

Thank you for sharing this. What you are describing makes complete sense, and it is very similar to the new
Views
experience we recently introduced for Tasks.The idea is that users should be able to create dedicated views for different workflows, case areas, or practice areas, and have each view remember its own setup instead of forcing everyone to work from one universal list.
We are already working toward bringing this same concept to the
Matters module
, including:* Custom saved views for different matter workflows
* Independent filters for each view
* Saved column visibility, including custom fields
* Saved sorting and layout preferences
* A cleaner way to manage different operational views without constantly changing columns
We are also working on improved
Kanban views
for both the Matter module
and the Lead module
, so teams can manage matters and leads more visually based on the workflow that fits their practice.Your request is very much aligned with where we are taking Lawcus. We appreciate you explaining the use case so clearly, and we will keep this feedback connected to the upcoming Matter and Lead views enhancements.
