Issue with Filling Out Form Linked to Existing Lead

If we want to send a form to a potential client (who is already in our system as a Lead) to get more info from them, there are multiple issues when they fill out the form.
- If the Contact Info block is set as "Client Info" (as opposed to "Lead Info"), and they don't enter their name exactly as it appears in our system (i.e. they include leading/trailing whitespace), it won't link their submission to their existing Lead. That is, any of the info they enter into Linked Fields fields won't appear as Custom Fields in their Lead.
- If the Contact Info block is set as "Client Info" (as opposed to "Lead Info"), and they DO enter their name exactly as it appears in our system, it WILL link their submission to their existing Lead. That is, any of the info they enter into Linked Fields fields WILL appear as Custom Fields in their Lead (even though it's set as Client Info and not Lead Info).
- If the Contact Info block is set as "Lead Info" (as opposed to "Client Info"), and they don't enter their name exactly as it appears in our system (i.e. leading/trailing whitespace before/after first/middle/last name), it DOES correct linked the form info to the existing Lead, updating all info from the form (including the name) on the linked Lead.
- If the Contact Info block is set as "Lead Info" (as opposed to "Client Info"), and they DO enter their name exactly as it appears in our system, it DOES correctly link the form info to the existing Lead.
- If the Contact Info block is set as "Lead Info" (as opposed to "Client Info"), and they leave their name blank, it DOES correctly link the form info to the existing Lead.
- If the Contact Info block is removed from the form, and the form is linked to an existing Lead, it creates a new CONTACT with all of the linked info, instead of adding the form info to the linked Lead. It also links this contact to the Lead, but the newly-created Contact is almost entirely hidden from the system (only found via the Form Responses page). This scenario SHOULD result in the info being added to the existing linked Lead, not creating a new separate Lead.
The main issue is that if we don't want clients to accidentally change their name or primary contact info in our system, we should be able to exclude the Contact Info block without issue.
